A Busy Year leading to Growth
As 2022 draws to a close I must take this opportunity to apologise for the lack of ProcessIT Newsletters. When Covid hit several of our Clients took the opportunity of the Lockdown to review their internal processes and systems resulting in a large increase in developments as various spreadsheets were moved to more manageable Database Systems, to Cloud based full interactive data driven websites or just an automated locked down workbook to enforce standardisation and prevent errors.
Coinciding with this, my Assistant Developer was reducing his hours substantially and then finally resigned, due to a change in his family circumstances. So, I have been working extra hours and doing my best to prioritise my clients’ needs with the time I had available while not pulling out too much of my remaining hair!
Growth
ProcessIT took on an Intern in his final year of IT studies at EIT. Jason is very keen and has been on a very steep learning curve. It has taken some of my time to coach, assist and teach him the real-life skills needed to be a developer. ProcessIT is expanding even further, having agreed to employ Janki as an ASP DOT NET Developer, she is starting in February 2023. Janki is a very passionate young lady with a master’s degree in Computer Science and a Post Graduate Diploma, plus some years of work experience. We keenly look forward to Janki joining the ProcessIT Team.
With Janki soon to be on board, we are almost through the backlog and looking forward to expanding in a busy 2023, with even more focus on Cloud based Websites built with Microsoft’s ASP Dot Net to provide secure, fully customisable data capture and reporting directly within a custom Web site.

A late Happy Birthday to Access
Way back on October 28th, 1992, Microsoft released MS Access 1.0. It has just turned 30 years old and is up to version 16 currently. I have been using it since Access 95(version 7) and ProcessIT has developed many highly successful solutions using Microsoft Access and continues to do so. Access is a relational Database coupled with a Rapid Application Development tool (RAD). With the many integrated features built in, applications can be built far quicker than using various other traditional development tools. Microsoft continues to support and develop Access and we look forward to using it for many years to come. You can read more on Wikipedia.
Tech Tip
Microsoft marketing team has decided to “improve” the naming of its existing Office Template site (https://templates.office.com/ ) and copied most of the content to a new site called “Create” at https://create.microsoft.com/
“Create” features a stronger emphasis on social media than Templates did but it still retains many of the existing templates for Word, Excel and some other office applications while adding significant new designs. Template headings are grouped under “Social Media”, “Occasions & Holidays”, “Events”, Interests & Hobbies”, and “Business”.
You can search on Categories (Social Media, Videos, Life & Business or Apps) or by Styles and Colours.
Most are free to download and use but if you need to create your own, you need a Microsoft account login. You can then share these if you wish.
Note that “Create” is still in “Preview” and some features are still being developed but hopefully you can find some interesting templates to boost your next post or presentation etc.
Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2023…
Regards,
Brian
